The 33rd China International Bicycle Exhibition (hereinafter referred to as the China Exhibition) was held from 5 to 8 May 2025 at the New International Expo Centre in Shanghai. The theme of the exhibition was "New Empowerment of Quality, Shared Future". It aims to build a diverse, vibrant and efficient communication and exhibition platform for the global bicycle and e-bike industry.

La  noche del 4 de mayo, el Comité Organizador de la Exposición de China preparó cuidadosamente una gran recepción de inauguración para dar la bienvenida a invitados de todo el mundo en un ambiente cálido.

On the evening of 4 May, the Organising Committee of the China Exhibition thoughtfully hosted a grand opening reception to welcome guests from around the world.

Entre los asistentes al evento destacaron figuras como Liu  Lihua, subdirector del Comité Económico del 13.º Comité Nacional de la CCPPCC y exviceministro del Ministerio de Industria y Tecnología de la Información; Zhang Chonghe, miembro del Comité de Asuntos Internos y Judiciales del Congreso Popular Nacional; y Zhang Wei, inspector del Departamento de Seguridad Laboral del mismo ministerio. También estuvieron presentes Sun Weimin, director del Centro de Gestión de Ciclismo y Esgrima, y Zhang Tao, exdirector de la Oficina de la Asociación Industrial del Consejo de Estado.

The event was attended by Liu Lihua, deputy director of the Economic Committee of the 13th National Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and former vice minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology; Zhang Chonghe, member of the National People's Congress Committee on Internal and Legal Affairs; and Zhang Wei, inspector of the Ministry of Work Safety. Also present were Sun Weimin, director of the Cycling and Fencing Management Centre, and Zhang Tao, former director of the State Council's Office of Industry Associations.

Other key participants included Song Zhiming, Vice President of the China Machinery Industry Federation; Guo Kuilong, Secretary General of the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products; Wang Xianxin, Director of the Certification Centre of the China National Light Industry Council and President of the China Light Industry Publishing Group; Wu Yingjin, President of the Taiwan Bicycle Association; Miao Hua, Secretary General of the Shanghai Light Industry Federation; Liu Suwen, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the China Light Industry Federation, Chief Supervisor and President of the China Bicycle Association, and other prominent industry leaders.

También asistieron invitados internacionales, como Massimo Panzeri, presidente de la Asociación Europea de Ciclismo CONEBI; Bayram Akgul, vicepresidente de CONEBI y presidente de la Asociación Turca; Jordi Manonellas, presidente del Cluster Español de la movilidad ligera; Feng Mingyue, vicepresidente de la Asociación de Bicicletas y Motocicletas de Vietnam, así como líderes de asociaciones industriales locales, representantes de empresas participantes, compradores y representantes de los medios de comunicación.

International guests in attendance included Massimo Panzeri, President of the European Bicycle Industry Association (CONEBI); Bayram Akgul, Vice President of CONEBI and President of the Turkish Bicycle Association; Jordi Manonellas, President of the Spanish Light Mobility Cluster; Feng Mingyue, Vice President of the Vietnam Bicycle and Motorcycle Association; as well as leaders of local industry associations, representatives of participating companies, buyers and media delegates.

En su discurso, Liu Suwen destacó la resiliencia de la industria china de vehículos de dos ruedas frente a la recuperación económica mundial. Señaló que, en el último año del 14.º Plan Quinquenal y el inicio del 15.º, es clave evaluar los avances en áreas como la transformación verde, la fabricación inteligente y el diseño internacional. Subrayó la importancia de la innovación científica y tecnológica para integrar la digitalización y descarbonización en la cadena industrial, buscando nuevas ventajas competitivas y fortalecer la manufactura china.

In his speech, Liu Suwen highlighted the resilience of China's two-wheeler industry amid the global economic recovery. He noted that as the final year of the 14th Five-Year Plan coincides with the beginning of the 15th, it is crucial to assess progress in key areas such as green transformation, smart manufacturing and international design. He emphasised the importance of scientific and technological innovation in integrating digitalisation and decarbonisation throughout the industrial chain to cultivate new competitive advantages and enhance China's manufacturing strength.

El presidente Liu destacó que la industria china de bicicletas y bicicletas eléctricas ha sabido adaptarse a los cambios globales y del consumo, impulsando su desarrollo con nuevas tecnologías como los vehículos de nuevas energías, materiales ligeros y redes inteligentes. También subrayó el papel de la  economía digital y los eventos ciclistas como motores de crecimiento. Señaló que el sector entra en una nueva etapa de desarrollo de alta calidad, e hizo un llamado a la unidad, la apertura y la cooperación internacional para avanzar hacia una movilidad ecológica e inteligente.

President Liu highlighted how the Chinese bicycle and e-bike industry has successfully adapted to global and consumer changes by embracing new technologies such as new energy vehicles, lightweight materials and smart grids. He also noted the growing influence of the digital economy and cycling events as drivers of growth. Stressing that the industry is entering a new phase of high-quality development, Liu called for unity, openness and international cooperation to move towards a greener and smarter mobility future.

Posteriormente, el presidente Jordi Manonellas pronunció un discurso en el que afirmó que, como una exposición de gran escala y renombre mundial, la China Expo se ha celebrado con éxito en 32 ediciones y ha realizado contribuciones significativas al desarrollo del comercio mundial de bicicletas.

Este año se conmemora el 40.º aniversario de la fundación de la Asociación China de  Bicicletas. A pesar de los desafíos que enfrenta la industria, Manonellas, con 53 años de experiencia en el sector del transporte, expresó su convicción de que establecer una cooperación con China es  la clave del éxito, y que el futuro  compartido entre China y España está lleno de esperanza.

President Jordi Manonellas then gave a speech in which he said that China Expo, as a large-scale and internationally renowned exhibition, has been successfully held 32 times and has made significant contributions to the development of the global bicycle trade.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of the founding of the China Bicycle Association. Despite the challenges facing the industry, Manonellas - who has 53 years of experience in the transport sector - expressed his strong belief that building cooperation with China is the key to success and that the shared future between China and Spain is full of promise.

Poco después se celebró la ceremonia de entrega  de la Medalla de Oro del “Premio a la Innovación CICLISMO CHINA”. Durante el acto, se anunció oficialmente la lista del segundo lote de “pequeñas y medianas empresas  especializadas y emergentes” de la industria china de bicicletas y bicicletas  eléctricas. Al mismo tiempo, se publicó el “Informe de investigación sobre la movilidad verde en vehículos de  dos ruedas 2024”, y se exhibieron de forma destacada las obras ganadoras de la Medalla de Oro del 3.º  Concurso de Diseño de Bicicletas y Bicicletas Eléctricas de China.

Líderes, invitados, representantes de las empresas  premiadas y miembros de los medios de comunicación se reunieron para presenciar este destacado acontecimiento de la industria ciclista.

Shortly afterwards, the Gold Medal Ceremony of the "CHINA CYCLING Innovation Award" was held. During the event, the second batch of "Specialised and Innovative Small and Medium Enterprises" in China's bicycle and e-bike industry was officially announced. At the same time, the "2024 Research Report on Green Mobility in Two-Wheeled Vehicles" was released, and the winning entries of the Gold Medal of the 3rd China Bicycle and E-Bike Design Competition were prominently displayed.

Industry leaders, guests, representatives from the winning companies and media gathered to witness this landmark event in the bicycle industry.
